New Year, New Commitment
by gvickrey on Jan.28, 2012, under Attend
It has been an intriguing last few months for GVC as our list of projects has expanded and diversified, and the network of capable hands on call has extended. All well and good. Yet, the global condition appears caught in an inertia, no matter the appearance of various revolutionary threads here and there. From Wall Street to Tahrir, revolutionary actions have been controlled, co-opted, or compromised. At the start of 2011, we stated the year was make-or-break. It was.
In the United States, the myopic approach of the President, the Congress, and all election-year aspirants gives credence to a calculated boycott and little else. Climate science is ignored. Interest rates remain manipulated. Civil rights are curtailed.
So here we are. 2012.
Stay tuned into our projects. We’ll be ramping up work with specific organizations and entities, dabbling extensively in technology and the web, pursuing science and the precautionary principle, and expanding our creative approach.
More importantly, stay tuned into your world. Extend a helping hand – further, perhaps, than you might normally be comfortable doing. As much as possible, produce your own necessities, and limit the definition of that word necessity. And rise up to the reality of the challenges we share.
Most importantly, don’t be controlled. Don’t be co-opted. Don’t be compromised.
See you soon.
